Shredding While Social Distancing

As we all know, COVID-19 is sweeping the globe and shows no signs of going away any time soon. Many of us are seeking out social distancing and self-isolation in order to slow the spread of the virus. Workplaces that have the ability to do so have begun shifting employees to remote working status, ensuring life can go on while avoiding contact. Many that can’t are still remaining open, but taking precautions for the safety of their customers and employees.

For those working at home, we are suddenly going to be faced with the prospect that our information responsibilities have shifted from the workplace, right to our own homes. It may seem a difficult prospect when you are attempting to avoid heading out, but there are options open to you even with these imposed conditions.

Shredding Comes To You

Thankfully, it is a common practice in the shredding industry to offer services that come to the location of our clients. This mobile shredding option happens due to the advanced shredding trucks that are at our disposal. These trucks, with their built in shredder, are able to handle any job you can throw at them.

Normally during an onsite shredding job, you watch the entire process from start to finish, ensuring your peace of mind that all documents have been destroyed. Since many people are actively trying to limit their exposure to others, you may be hesitant to get close to someone who is coming into contact with many people.

Fortunately we can work around this impairment. For starters, when our staff members arrive to collect your documents, you can arrange to do the hand over a bit differently. What you could do, is be ready when our staff member arrives for your files, place them outside in their container, or some place our staff can get them. Retreat indoors again so you don’t come into direct contact. Observe the process from a window.

If you are still wanting a closer look, upon the monitor for example, you can surely be accommodated. Keep in mind to observe the recommended distance between people during this period, 6 to 12 feet to prevent the virus spreading. Our staff member will have to stay close to the truck to operate the machine, so monitor viewing might not be readily available. Should you be showing symptoms of any illness, please be aware that you should remain inside for the safety of our staff, and to prevent any chances of spreading the virus.

Remember that now is not that time to forget your information safety procedures while we are isolating. Onsite shredding is a perfect option for you in these situations. Reach out to us with any questions you may have. We’re still operating at the time of writing this article, and are ready to help you out should you need it. Let’s all be safe, and healthy during this difficult time.
